Expression of IL-37 in different grades of gliomas and its correlation with prognosis

Abstract

Abstract: Objective To analyze the expression of IL-37 in different grades of gliomas and its correlation with prognosis.Methods The tissue specimens and clinicopathological data were collected from 66 patients with different types and grades of gliomas were treated in Our hospital from March 2016 to September 2020.The control group consisted of 10 normal brain tissues after craniocerebral trauma underwent intracranial decompression surgery.The expression of IL-37 mRNA and protein was detected by real-time PCR and immunohistochemistry,and the correlation between IL-37 expression and various clinicopathological factors was evaluated.Results The expression of IL-37 mRNA in glioma was significantly higher than that in normal tissue (P<0.01).The expression of IL-37 decreased with the increase of who grade.The expression of IL-37 in gliomas with high degree of malignancy was significantly lower than that in gliomas with low degree of malignancy.The survival time of patients with low expression of IL-37 was shorter.Conclusion Low expression of IL-37 was negatively correlated with pathological grade,and low expression of IL-37 was positively correlated with survival time.Therefore,IL-37 may play an inhibitory role in the progression of glioma.

摘要： 目的分析IL-37在不同级别胶质瘤中的表达差异及其预后的相关性。方法收集2016年3月至2020年9月于我院收治的66例不同类型、不同级别的胶质瘤患者的组织标本和临床病理资料,对照组为10例颅脑外伤后行颅内减压手术切除的脑组织。应用实时荧光定量PCR(RT-PCR)和免疫组化技术检测脑胶质瘤组织中IL-37mRNA和蛋白质的表达,评估IL-37表达与各种临床病理因素之间的相关性。结果 IL-37mRNA在正常组织和胶质瘤组织中均有表达,胶质瘤组织中IL-37mRNA表达明显高于正常组织(P＜0.01)。IL-37表达随WHO分级升高而下降。IL-37在恶性程度高的胶质瘤组织表达比恶性程度低的胶质瘤组织显著降低,IL-37低表达的患者生存时间较短。结论 L-37低表达与病理分级呈负相关,低IL-37与生存时间呈正相关。因此,IL-37可能在胶质瘤的进展中起到抑制作用。
